Dan Pashman, host of food podcast "The Sporkful," announced the creation of a new pasta shape.
Dubbed cascatelli, the short pasta is a flat strip with ruffles that stick out at a 90-degree angle. Pashman said the ruffles give texture and that the noodle would better hold sauce.
"Spaghetti is just a tube," he said of the need for improvement among pasta shapes. "After a few bites, it's the same."
