We stopped by the new Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida to try a Jurassic World Whoopie Pie. This treat is blue just like our favorite Velociraptor.
Treat Outpost is one of four snack stands inside the final room of the tribute store. It serves up a whole case full of dinosaur-themed treats.
Jurassic World Whoopie Pie – $4.50
The Jurassic World Whoopie pie is cake with buttercream filling and candy bones around the middle.
The outside of the whoopie pie had an unusual texture and not much flavor. It was a thick, dense cake disc. The frosting was gritty with sugar and over the top on sweetness. The Team Members told us the filling was cake batter flavored, but it tasted more like cotton candy. It might have been good on a cupcake but it was just too much here.
Overall, we can’t recommend the Jurassic World Whoopie Pie. The extreme sweetness was too much, and the cake pieces failed to provide any contrast. There are many treats available in the Jurassic World Tribute Store, so we advise skipping this one.
