Spring is a busy time of year for local farmers, with many tilling fields and planting both sweet and field corn the past two weeks, as well as grains and soybeans. But one thing that can always bring the Elk County Farm Bureau members together is a Homemade pie and Ice Cream meeting. It's like a sneak peek at the upcoming Fox Township Farmers Markets with Mary Ellen Badeau's homemade Apple, Lemon Meringue, and Cherry pies that she sells each week paired with locally made Brandy Camp Creamery "Wild Vanilla" ice cream. The Farm Bureau thanks the Elk County Fair Board for the generous use of Exhibit Hall #1 for their meeting. The Elk County Fair dates for 2021 are from Tuesday, August 11 through Sunday, August 15 will include the Funnel-Cake and Milkshake Booth that the Bureau runs each year at the Fair. The Ridgway Record/Daily Press will once again be printing up the Fair booklets, so be on the lookout for them as August approaches.
