For years, I pleaded with my mother to make the pies, but she never wanted to do it herself. In Easter of 2018, we brought back the tradition, this time however, in my house in the South of Italy. It was as though our family recipe made its way all the back to the country where it all began, just a few hours away from where my great-grandfather was born.
