Pizzeria Humble Pie has reemerged in Scottsdale with a new chef and owner, Jorge Gomez, in addition to a renovated dining room, menu and bar.
The neighborhood restaurant is decorated in neutral colors and old-world aesthetics accentuated by a glass wine wall, according to a press release, describing vintage Edison bulbs, black refurbished seating, antique accents and old-fashioned prints on the wall, featuring “global food cities of yesteryear.”
Mr. Gomez has more than two decades of international and local experience, the release said, noting how he redeveloped a new menu for the rebranded Humble Pie.
After graduating as a classically French-trained chef from the Culinary Institute of Mexico and training in Barcelona and Europe, he mastered the art of world-class pizza and helped build local restaurants under LGO Hospitality and Genuine Concepts.
He also competed in Food Network shows, Guy's Grocery Games and Summer Cook Off, where he got two wins and will compete in future Champions Games, according to the release, adding Mr. Gomez is inspired from his travels, family and mentors.
“My love and passion for food started at a really young age with my grandmother teaching me how to cook traditional Mexican cuisine,” said Mr. Gomez in a prepared statement.
“After traveling the world, I’m excited to combine my classical Spanish and French influence with worldwide flavors and techniques to create our new American Italian fare at the “Not So” Humble Pie in each of the neighborhoods we serve.”
With locations in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Humble Pie has daily specials, happy hour, lunch deals and brunch with indoor-outdoor seating for any social and business gathering, the release said, adding that carryout and delivery are available at both locations.
