Florida Times-UnionLot J is pie in the sky
No, no, a thousand times, NO!
The City Council should vote NO on the proposed Lot J development.
A city becomes great by spending its treasure on the basics—education, infrastructure, libraries, neighborhoods, environment, the arts, police and medical care. These are the critical features of a city that determine the quality of life of its residents and, as well, attract new residents.
The Lot J development contributes to none of these basics and is extraordinarily risky, expensive and potentially a low return monetarily for Jacksonville taxpayers. It has been reported that most Jacksonville residents oppose the plan!
Jacksonville should not be held hostage to the threat of losing the Jaguars.
The City Council should consign the Lot J development to the dust bin of other failed pie-in-the-sky proposals in Jacksonville—both realized and not.

Mayor shouldn’t use threat tactics
After reading Mark Woods’ article Wednesday, I have to say it is not only a well-written article, but one I fully agree with. The taxpayers of Jacksonville deserve a fully researched and fully transparent review of the Lot J proposal. Mayor Curry should not be using the tactics of a threat to push this through without allowing time for the proposal to be fully vetted. We have a contract with the Jags through 2030, do we not? My question is: Does Mayor Curry believe that we have all forgotten the JEA debacle?
Thank you, Mark Woods, and thank you Florida Times-Union for continuing to make every attempt to keep us informed and by doing so, attempting to assist in the clarity and transparency of yet another project for the city of Jacksonville, and for helping to ensure the honesty of the process.

Trump needs to quit protesting
Donald Trump made a 45-minute speech on Wednesday about election fraud. Essentially, he said that the Chinese created the virus that caused the pandemic which encouraged mail-in ballots which gave the Democrats a chance to orchestrate mass voting fraud
First, I find it hard to believe that the Democratic Party has the competence to do this. Remember, we are talking about the same party that four years ago could not even protect their emails from being hacked
Second, where are my congressional representatives to dispute this garbage. Has anyone heard from Rutherford, Scott or Rubio?
Third, can Donald Trump please stop blaming everyone else for the election loss. It's not China's fault and there is no big conspiracy. Donald Trump lost because Americans are just tired of the lying, the cheating and the total lack of responsibility
