After ruminating recently in “Flashback” on the all-American past of pumpkin pie, let’s turn to those sweet slices especially linked to the Sunshine State’s past and culture: Key lime pie. In 2006 the Florida Legislature deemed Key lime our official state pie, putting it right up there with alligators, mockingbirds, manatees, porpoises, panthers, orange blossoms, largemouth bass, sailfish, sabal palms and lots more, in the state’s Valhalla of symbols.
