SANTA CRUZ — A love of old school movies and seeing the connection between the hot dog man and the community is what inspired Daniel Aguirre to start his own business.
Aguirre, owner of Happy Dog Hot Dogs, serves fresh hot dogs at his stand starting at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday in the parking lot of Santa Cruz Auto Body, 324 River St.
You cant miss Aguirre’s positive energy, and red hot dog stand. He wants people to come hungry and leave happy.
Aguirre’s goal is to make friends with his community and serve up some quality hot dogs. He offers four-six different types of Corralitos sausages, including the classic favorite cheesy bavarian and an assortment he chooses every week. Grab the Ham and Swiss, or XXtra Hot link. He also offers the classic jumbo all beef hot dogs, and Polish sausages from Los Gatos.
Once you choose the hot dog of your choice, you are not done. Aguiree has an assortment of mustards to add including a homemade aiolis.
