Nice work, bone daddy! Disney pastry chefs are at it again, this time with a deliciously stitched together dessert inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. This Sally Whoopie Pie is can be found at Walt Disney World Resort just in time for the Spooky, but Not So Scary season to begin. Here’s what is included in this Halloween treat…
Sally Whoopie Pie
Instagram user @pixiedustedfun shared this snap and short video touring her picked-up treat from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Around the backside of the main building, you’ll find Gasparilla Island Grill, the resort’s airy quick service restaurant, selling flatbreads, gourmet sandwiches, and offering a large pastry and coffee area. Offering a Sally Whoopie Pie near a bakery island is a great idea, if only because of Sally’s baking addiction!
When PixieDustedFun opted for a mobile order and pick up of her food, she included the new Sally Whoopie Pie inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween film. Her second Instagram frame is a video, showing all sides of the cake treat. Her caption says, “Sally Whoopie Pie Hearts💜🖤💜 Located at Gasparilla Island Grill in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.💜🖤💜 This is a Heart-Shaped Cake Sandwich with Fluffy Cream decorated with Sally’s Dress Pattern and Chocolate Stitches.💜🖤💜”
Well, well, well. What have we here? Snapped perfectly from the side, we can see two fluffy yet firm layers of cake and a teal frosting application that matches Sally’s pallor! From what we understand, it’s a vanilla base, but the decorations make it all the tastier. Delicate chocolate stitches go all the way around the heart-shaped pie, cutting in sideways to cover the rag doll patchwork dress Sally wears.
Whoopie pies are typically made of red velvet cake mix and cream cheese filling, but we would love to see a pumpkin puree whoopie pie or perhaps a marshmallow creme cake batter for the holidays! Toss some powdered sugar on top in place of snow to delight all of Halloween Town!
Inside the NBC Whoopie Pie
Once the pie is cut or bit into, the teal frosting makes the scene. The spongy cake looks well baked and plump while the piped chocolate stitches add a little bit of candy firmness. While you may be tempted to eat this one alone, it’s best to pair with a friend or roomie. After all, you and this dessert are simply mean to be!
