Good Bite

The best thing about brunch besides it being socially acceptable to drink champagne at 10am, is the list of menu items to choose from suddenly doubles. Not only are you afforded the possibilities of breakfast, but lunch is now on the table as well. What to do, however, when you’re craving not only breakfast or lunch but also perhaps dinner? Steak and eggs my friend. The beautiful love child of the am and pm culinary world, steak and eggs is arguably the perfect meal.

It’s the prince and the pauper of dishes letting you have eggs cooked your way like any good diner worth its salt, but with the luxurious bonus of a ‘usually saved for special occasions’ steak. Most spots pile a thin piece of meat over potatoes and call it a day, but Station 400 on Tamiami is plating up a slightly more elevated version of this roadside favorite. Served alongside roasted plum tomatoes, arugula salad and topped with a basil hollandaise sauce, the assembly screams elegance while the mound of hashbrowns and buttered toast brings you back to earth. With a smattering of mimosa choices to pair (I’d suggest the Blood Orange Hibiscus) this is the spot when you’re craving classic breakfast with some extra oomph.

Station 400 is open 7 days a week 7:30am-2:30pm.

*Please forgive the bite of toast missing, I was starving.
