Fact: Even when you’re a chef, you sometimes get sick of eating your own food. Nature of the job, so to speak. So where do Wolfgang Puck and Giada De Laurentiis like to indulge in fine Italian cuisine, when they’re off duty? Angelini Osteria in Los Angeles, CA of course.
Since opening its doors in 2001, the acclaimed flagship helmed by Chef Gino Angelini has become one of LA’s most celeb-frequented hot spots. And his famed Pasta al Limone might have something to do with that. “The best Italian chef in Los Angeles” says the dish was born as an alternative to Alfredo and it hits all the right notes: lemony, cheesy, fresh…insanely good.

“The lemon takes away a little of the fat from the cream, butter and Parmigiano Reggiano,” says Angelini. “It also lightens the dish on the palette.” Although they use house-made tagliolini pasta at the restaurant, you can use dry penne pasta, or whichever long or short-cut noodle you favor.
In addition to Puck and De Laurentiis, more celeb fans of Angelini Osteria include: Charlize Theron, Jimmy Kimmel, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, Eiza Gonzalez, Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. And if you can’t make it to LA, worry not. Angelini has bottled his famous pasta sauces, so you can recreate his signature pastas at home.
