Pie Town Tacos, a fast casual taco shop in the sliver of a neighborhood by the same name, opens on Tuesday, July 28.
Located in Pie Town at 614 Ewing Avenue, the fast casual shop offers two types of tacos. Carne asada and al pastor tacos are served on corn tortillas and topped with traditional garnishes, while Nashville hot tacos (choose from chicken, cauliflower, or fish) are dusted with a house spice blend. Chorizo or potato taco bowls, chilaquiles, salsas, queso, and sopapillas fininsh the menu, which includes plenty of vegetarian-friendly options.
For now there’s no dine-in service at Pie Town Tacos. Owners and husband-and-wife team Jason and Lea Crockarell made the call to offer only carry-out and delivery for now. The Pie Town Tacos food truck will park outside for takeout orders — available for walk-up service or advance ordering online. Delivery will be available through Grubhub and Postmates.
Once the Crockarells are ready to add dine-in service, the bungalow will seat 20 inside and 12 on the patio with proper social distancing measures in mind.
The Crockarells have over 25 years of experience in the Nashville hospitality industry — including Flavor Catering, which they’re operated from the same neighborhood since 2006. Pie Town Tacos was inspired by Lea’s Mexican heritage — a dream of hers to serve some of her family’s favorite dishes.
PTT will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and only for takeout and delivery given the current climate.
